Utilization Review

Review Med helps its clients evaluate the necessity, appropriateness, and efficiency of the use of medical services, procedures, and facilities.

Pre-Authorization
Review Med credentials state-mandated licensure or certification for all applicable states. In order to better meet our clients' future needs and to demonstrate our commitment to provide quality utilization review services, Review Med began the URAC accreditation process in 2005.

Review Med is URAC Accredited, receiving a score of 100% on all files reviewed in our pre-authorization department

Benefits:

Preauthorization will assist an injured worker and/or a claims handler to determine what is medically necessary on a file.

1. This assists in reducing unnecessary medical charges and procedures associated with additional cost to a file.

2. It can also assist the injured worker in expediting medical treatment needed on a file so the employee can get treatment that they need to return to work in a timely fashion.

3. Preauthorization can give assistance to the claims handler legally by providing medical rational for treatment that is not needed, saving money for the carrier.
